Could you plz give me some context for hanshi? Where is that and what does it do?
(I know Jingshi is in Cloud recesses) Sorry, I'm not familiar with it and I need to go find the Chinese for it.
Anything else while I'm at it?

The Hanshi is Lan Xichen's room/house/residence! The fandom wiki I use says "Frost Room" as translation but doesn't have pinyin/characters for it.

On a very similar theme, Mingshi hasn't come up in anything I've podficced yet, but maybe it will?


...do you want to do qin/guqin and qiankun (as in qiankun bag/pouch) as well? :D?

Thank you for this so much because I try to hear what they are being called in the Netflix CQL because the Netflix subs are just like "we've assigned all these characters one name each on the assumption that you don't want to be bothered with all this detail" and listening for the names is a little difficult when I have just the pinyin but no real idea of how those consonants or vowels actually are formed in the world?

I noticed for the first time reading your post that Lan Yuan/Wen Yuan's name is a different character after his adoption? I had previously thought that he just got a new family name!!

I'm so glad! Yeah subs when they just keep a characters name no matter what ppl call them make me cringe a lot. Especially when a character switches to a relationship marker or title, it's SO JARRING if they keep the name? (ex: JC calling his sister Ah-jie but the subs are YanLi....)

I also thought that they just changes Lan Yuan's family name! But I guess not! Altho they did keep the same pronunciation and just gave him a new character, which I think is pretty neat.
