So, there's a bit less than a month left before i venture off into the Great Canadian Wilderness for 9 months.

I thought i ought to stock up on entertainment, since regular internet access is still a vague hope at this point. I'll be sharing one computer with internet access with 10 other people. Dad at least agreed to let be bring mom's laptop. Pray it'll be wireless internet .___.

So, i'm putting forth a call to you, my dear F-list, as you are such resourceful people.

DOES ANYONE HAVE AUDIOBOOKS or E-BOOKS THEY ARE WILLING TO SHARE?
I'll also be grateful for fic recs (especially epic long fic in the HP, GO, SW or other fandom), music, animation movies, or whatever you can give me to tide me through 9 months. :P

Here's what I currently have:
+Terry Pratchett's Discworld books (don't know how many, but quite a few!) as txt
+HBP in audiobook (which i can't seem to find)
and that's all >_<

As what i have to give in return.. well >_> not much...
I'll draw doodles upon request! ^__^;

Um. I have a lot of Sci-fi/Fantasy e-books, but I mostly grabbed those from Mininova, and the total file size is huge. Do you have any novels/authors in particular that you prefer to read?

Date: 2008-09-25 11:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] littlewolfstar.livejournal.com
Haa.. I don't really know. I tend to have childish tastes and will love a book as long as it has a fun story or great characters.

How bout you give me your top 5-6 selections ^-^

thank you! >o>

Date: 2008-09-26 04:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kye-kestrel.livejournal.com
Top 5-6. +_+ Um. Are books by Douglas Adams, Angie Sage, Jim Butcher, Ursula LeGuin, Christopher Stasheff, and Robert Ludlum (more specifically the Bourne series) all right?

I also have... Allan Dean Foster, Anne McCaffrey, Anthony Piers, Ray Bradbury, David Eddings, David Gemmell, Mercedes Lackey, Orson Scott Card, James Patterson, George Martin, Stephen King, Terry Brooks, Anne Rice, Nora Roberts, and... a bunch of other writers. It's not like I'd read them all, though, so I don't really know how to rec them.

Oh, and most of my e-books are in LIT format. Will you be able to read that?

Date: 2008-09-29 04:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] littlewolfstar.livejournal.com
That sounds good! ^__^ I trust your judgment :P
ooooh can i also have your David Eddings and Orson Scott Card?? *_____*

LIT? I will need to install the program, right? But yes i can since the laptop is windows~

thank you soo much >_<
please feel free to request a/several drawing(s) :P

Here~ I'll upload the David Eddings and Orson Scott Card books in a separate file. (And because I don't have them with me right now. XD)

Etou... Douglas Adams is the author of the Hitchhiker series. Angie Sage's books are a bit more childish... Or. Well, they're always located at the children's books section. XD Good for light reading, though. Jim Butcher wrote the Dresden Files series. Spell-slinging wizard in a modern city setting. Ursula LeGuin wrote the Earthsea series. I consider it up there with Lord of the Rings in language and writing style and setting and characters, but I'm not a literary critic, so you probably shouldn't trust my comparisons. XD Christopher Stasheff's books has wizardry, too, but it's been a while since I last read the series I'm recommending, and I was really young back then - I'm not sure if I'll still think of his books as good if I read them now. And finally, Robert Ludlum wrote the Bourne trilogy. Spy thriller books. Different from the movies, if you've seen them.

I haven't read L Frank Baum yet, but took it nonetheless because the name attracted me. XD I think I threw it in - if you read it before I do, give me your thoughts on it? ^_~

"Fae" is short for Faestian, an author on y!gallery that did a serie with Nagas I liked.. and I don't like naga mythology normally! She had written a book before I started reading that saga, but had taken it offline while she edited it so as to self-publish. Then, once the editing was done, she offered that we can download the file as a PDF or buy it so as to have a paper-back copy. I took the .pdf file but haven't read it yet. I think it ought to be good, since she's a nice author. I only knows of this story that is contains elves, most probably tons of slashy smut moments and an adventure-type plot.

Anyway, download your requests here. You can swift through it later if you get plenty of time. =)

I think I included it in the zip already. =3

Et oui, ça me dit. =D En plus, si j'arrive directement du bureau je serai déjà dans le métro et passe par le centre-ville, donc on pourrait se donner rendez-vous n'importe où (chez toi c'est à l'autre bout extrème de l'île cependant, ahah).

Isn't it awesome? LOL.

Mein Kampf?... Ranty. Didn't go on far though.

It's like something I would write in a shot at 3AM (when my world-domination mode is in its highest), but more evil and documented. But still ranty.

WOOT. ♥
Knowing us, it'll be extremely colorful, happy and flamboyantly gay. \^0^/

At the rate I'm going, a doujin probably would never be a good idea (except if I'm only there as an inking/toner/colorist, in which case I wholesomely jump right in) but maybe art books or things. We never know. =3

cause i agree that comic at this point is well nigh impossible~ :P art books are fun, but we needs theme..

DAH. J'ai toujours pas joint pour le GO exchange... car je ne connaît pas le fandom et voir des gens qui disent des pairings auxquels je n'avais jamais porté la moindre attention ça m'intimide. ;___;

Well, you know the contents of my bookshelf pretty well - if there's anything you'd like, let me know.

(Oct6 Maya will put all her things in .pdf, and she's one of the authors I will always read.)

This Wed I have a break from 10:35 till 3:30. If you're free we could chat and do some file swapping (bring usb?). Also show you around the campus. (I always have Chisu with me on campus, it's kind of sad and funny.)
