My first impression was that he was demented and that he scared me and I hated him for hurting Fuji. Then he got all cute and repentant and I wanted to squish the stuffing out of him *-* *squish*
In general, I find he is an intriguing character that has a lot of potential .

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Wait... There's a plot? ..................
Kidding.
Sure he is! He's instrumental in bringing out a new side of Fuji we don't really get to see! ... Is that important to the plot?? O____O

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Hurr.... I love the fact that he is aware of his crazy side, and tries to suppress it ^__^ Self-control is important, kids!

Strangely, Akaya is one of those characters I don't have a preferred pairing for. I love the whole mama&papa!yukimura/uncle renji/kid!akaya scenario, I love seeing him dork off with Marui, I've read some good Renji!Akaya.
I'm open to suggestions, wut! ^-^

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
NOT A HAIR... ok maybe a few hairs... like what would he look like with straight hair?? .... =____= That's not the point is it?

I would be scared shitless of him in real life....o____O
But perhaps I'd see him as a little brother of sorts when he's all cute ^-^

Blaaar...... can't say he's my favorite of any kind, but I definitely still love him. So somewhere in the middle, with the masses of other "loved-secondary-characters". :p

Well, depending on your conception of General Plot. If the plot is Gon's search for his dad, No.
HE HAS A WHOLE ARC DEDICATED TO HIS GANG AND KURAPIKA'S REVENGE AND WELL... YOU KNOW 8DDDD I'd say that's fairly important. *BIASED*

Can't say I really relate to him, but he is fascinating. He grips me more intellectually, you can say. I'd love to spend time analyzing his character and get into his head layer by layer... *is crazy*

I feel like HxH fandom is rather small, but very cosy. It allowed me to meet some great friends, so I love it mucho~~

1) What is your opinion of this character?
ALL HAIL KING IOREK! *BOWS DOWN*
Iorek is one of the greatest characters of the book, what can you say? He is soo tough and loyal and straightfoward. He knows where he stands, he knows his priorities, he keeps his promises.
He is a freagin' talking polar bear in armour!!!

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Crucial. Without him Lyra wouldn't have gotten half as far. He is her bodyguard, her friend, and great emotional support in her time of distress.
Also, like Mishi says, he's a one bear army. How awesome :)

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Oh man, who wouldn't?

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I don't know. I never stepped into that, seeing that my potential interest in fandom lies in a direction that is practically non-existent (Farder CoramxSerafina)

HUH. NO. THANK YOU.
But his friendship with Lee Scoresby is fascinating, their interaction is fascinating. He's soo gruff and though and Lee is soo.. texan! yet they get along so well! They just FEEL like a team!!
That's another direction i would love to see explored in fanfiction: The beginnings of Iorek and Lee's friendship.

NOTHING AT ALL~ Iorek is perfect the way he is *____*

SEVERUS SNAPE: THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE and potions master extraordinaire.

1) What is your opinion of this character?
Snape is one of the most intriguing and complex characters of the whole series, if not THE most complex and intriguing.
I could write a whole essay about Snape, as I'm sure may can, but let's just say that Snape deserved much better than what he got. Post-Mortem respect does not make up for a life of rejection and bitterness and regret.
at least the fanbase gives him plenty of love

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
OMG. LIKE.... Do I even need to answer that? THE SIXTH BOOK IS NAMED AFTER HIM PLZKTHX and also he was the major plot device in book one.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
YES.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I heard someone say somewhere that "Harry Potter is not fandom, it's a lifestyle." XD

5) Do you ship this character with any other character?
Contrary to the large majority of fandom, I don't ship Snape with anyone in particular. But because I'm such a marauders addict, I must say I tend to lean towards the MMWP-era!Snape. I would love to see him interact with Lily-and-Potter, with his gang of Slytherins, with Lupin and with Sirius. Y'know, Snape before he turned to the "Dark Side" (they have cookies). How he intereacted with Voldie and the Death Eaters before the prophecy... But really, Snape with anyone is interesting because its SNAPE.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
YES. HIS CRUEL AND UNDESERVED FATE. I'd have given him Lily or at least some nice girl/guy who would love him and cuddle him and call hi-*SPORKED*
But no. You can't change Snape, because he is Snape, and Snape is perfect as Snape, am I making sense?
